Joyce lives in Kaloko, Zambia. She’s a mother of three, determined to do everything possible to protect the health of her family. Since receiving a biosand filter in her home, Joyce has also joined the Healthy Home Initiative program led by our local partner. 

Through the program, Joyce has adopted every practice to ensure that the standards of hygiene are met in her home. That means that in addition to having safe, clean water to drink, her family has also started using a garbage disposal pit, drying rack, and clean latrine. Plus, Joyce now keeps a vegetable patch to supplement her family’s nutrition.

As a result, Joyce says her family is healthier and happier.
