Building a community that works together to address the HIV/AIDS and water crises is the main tenet of the work we do in Africa. But building community isn’t something that stops in Africa; it is something that we strive to do here in the states as well. In order to do that, we try to carve out intentional times of community building that bring us all together to think more about how we can create lasting change in Africa.

One of the ways we do this is through our Dig Deeper weekend. Dig Deeper is a time for Blood:Water to spend time with donors who want to “dig deeper,” beyond what you hear about the work on our website. We invite donors to spend the weekend with our staff and partners as we explain our work in greater detail and ask hard questions behind the why and how of the work we do in Africa. It’s also a time of learning more about the history of Blood:Water with our co-founders Jena Lee Nardella and Jars of Clay. The highlight of the weekend is always the intimate Jars of Clay acoustic performance on Saturday night.

In order to be a part of this year’s event in August, we have to hear from you by May 15th to reserve your spot. All details surrounding the weekend can be found on the Dig Deeper website.

Highlights and testimonials from last year’s awesome experience can be found in a blog post we did after the 2014 weekend.

Please don’t hesitate to email me with questions or let me know if you’d like to talk more. We hope to see you in North Carolina in August!
