The New Life Medical Center
With proper medical and social services, it is entirely possible to prevent the transmission of HIV from a pregnant mother to her baby. The New Life Medical Center is expanding its services to mentor HIV-positive pregnant mothers to prevent mother-to-child-transmission (PMTCT). Of the babies born so far, all have initially tested HIV-negative. Additionally, since opening in 2011, New Life Medical Center has seen 16,000 patients, tested 5,000 people, and enrolled 675 HIV-positive patients into treatment and care services.
