At Blood:Water, we love digging deeper. But the great thing is that digging deeper doesn’t always have to do with wells; we love going deeper into relationships, as well.
We recently held our Dig Deeper 2014 weekend in the mountains of North Carolina. This special weekend allows us to not only deepen our relationships with the supporters like you that make the work in Africa possible, but it allows our donors and advocates to gain a deeper understanding of our work.
One of the special donors we got to spend time with was Dave Umphress. Dave is with Denver-based Real Estate Group, Your Kingdom (with Keller Williams Realty Success), who do more than sell homes—they are dedicated to making dreams a reality for people in need around the world. One of the ways they are living out their bold mission statement is through their partnership with Blood:Water. Over the next few years, Dave is aiming to raise $100,000 for clean water in Africa. For Dave, Dig Deeper allowed him an opportunity to learn more about the impact he could have.
After the weekend, we received this great message from Dave and his wife, Hannah.
“It was a great weekend. Hannah and I came in to the weekend with high regard for Blood:Water, but interested in a better understanding of the who, where, and how. We left the weekend sold. We’re thrilled to be in partnership with you guys and really look forward to deepening the relationship.”
For us, that is what partnership is all about. Digging deeper to make a bigger impact in the lives of those in Africa.
