Music Monday: Wave & Rome

music monday blog

Today, Dan introduces us to Wave & Rome who just released a debut single!

  1. What is one of the greatest songs ever written? Why?
I'm definitely a sucker for vulnerable lyrics that tap into the heart and say something that everyone can relate to in a novel way. So for that reason, I'd say Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over" is one of the greatest. It's heartbreaking, emotional, and never fails to make me stop everything I'm doing and listen.

  2. What inspires you when you look at the world?
I think it's pretty fascinating how even though our cultures and surroundings are different all over the world, we have these common threads that bind us. Music is one of those threads that connects people all over the world. It breaks the boundaries of language and allows us to experience the same emotions. There's something beyond flesh and bone in music. Every day I strive to write music that reaches beyond the surface of our differences to reach the core of who we are.

  3. Why does Blood:Water matter to you?
There are few times in your life when you see a group of people actually doing something to make a real difference. When I read about Blood:Water and all the incredible work that is happening, I knew it was something I had to be a part of. Clean water is not a privilege but rather a human right and HIV is something that I hope to see the end of in my lifetime. I think with awareness and support, Blood:Water could be a part of eradicating these problems for millions of people.

  4.  What is happening musically? New record? Tour?
I just released a debut single, "Across the Map," on iTunes and Spotify, which I am really excited about. I also just landed an unreleased song on the ABC show “Nashville” called "Hands Over Eyes," which was cool cause my wife and I watch that show and get a kick out of how they depict the music scene here! I'm just excited to be starting this journey with music I've been working on for over three years. The five-song EP comes out June 2 and there will be lots of shows from there on!
