Every summer, fall and spring, Blood:Water welcomes a new round of interns. This summer, they have put together a fundraiser you don’t want to miss.

When the beginning of June rolled around here at Blood:Water, five new faces also rolled into the office—Blood:Water’s summer interns. Their eagerness and excitement beamed as each of them started their first day of work. Each one of them was honored to be an intern at a place that did such life changing work. I was one of those five and have loved learning something new everyday at the office. Whether I learn how a non-profit runs, how to become more generous or how to successfully plan and implement events, everyday is a new, beautiful lesson.

The interns were tasked at the beginning of the summer to put on a fundraiser for Blood:Water. We are excited to announce this year’s summer intern event—Blood:Water’s Food Truck Meet Up!

Food trucks are such a popular commodity in the “hip Nashville scene.” So, what better way to raise money for a good cause than create a relevant, fun event for all?

Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, come out and see this event come alive. Eat at your favorite food trucks and shop at local vendor booths. Proceeds from food trucks and vendors all go toward building a well in Uganda. We hope to empower so others will be empowered through this simple, yet impactful event.

Personally, my favorite thing about this fundraiser is how we are incorporating local vendors along with food trucks. By partnering with grassroots organizations here in Nashville, we are empowering and helping them get their name out to the community, while still gearing everything to a great cause in support of Blood:Water. This parallels with what Blood:Water does with their partners in Africa. We come alongside and empower them through partnership.

Oh, and if you come out, you can meet the fabulous five summer interns. See you there friends!
